The Get Caught UP Author Podcast is an on-air podcasting platform that offers interviews to Black authors and other literary creatives in both Indie and Traditional book publishing.Our goal is to assist with visibility to establish a footprint in the literary populace, garner increased followership and readership, and offer instruction and advisement in an effort to aid in flourishing the business acumen in publishing for new and seasoned authors as well as other creatives within the literary community. For our valued listeners, we aim to connect readers to new and "new to them" writers.By providing a dynamic platform that builds authors' resumes and establishes a rapport within artistic entertainment, our continued mission is to extend the reach of each author's fanbase by exposing their literary works to far-reaching audiences.With over 20,000 downloads, we are currently broadcast on 10 different sites, including Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Audible, Amazon Music, and iHeart Radio, and aired in the US and 49 international countries.

Owner & Host

Georgia resident, wife, and mother of four, Untamed is a Cum Laude graduate with a B.A. from UMUC and a certification from eCornell University in Women's Entrepreneurship.The thought to connect readers and writers began as a blog on her business site, Untamed Publishing in 2017. In 2019, she began offering tips and advice to aspiring, new, and seasoned authors on what is now the Get Caught UP Author Podcast, then increased the platform to offer author interviews. In 2021, Crystal - Books and Soul book blogger was added to the GCU Podcast family, and together they have increased the extent of the platform audience size, listener sites, and listenership nationally and internationally. Being donned the "Oprah and Gail" of literary podcasts.As the Creator and Host of The Get Caught UP Author Podcast, Untamed brings you the latest in literary news and the hottest author interviews! This author, podcaster; screenwriter, and film producer continues to push the creative envelope, delivering content that represents the literary community for the culture.

Our newest segment, implemented in 2023, is the Narrator of the Month interviews. Since COVID, audiobooks have been on the uptick, and audio narrators have lent their extraordinary talents to the enhancement of these literary works. Many of them are not only narrators, but voiceover talents, singers, and actors. Therefore, GCU wanted to highlight these unsung gems within our community. CRYSTAL

HOST

Crystal is a first-time author and the voice behind Books and Soul. Her book blogger platform began in July 2019 under the moniker Myluvofbooks, and in 2022, it was revamped and released as Books and Soul. This blog was set up to share her love of reading books by Black indie authors and to give them the recognition they deserve.In 2021, she joined the Get Caught Up Author Podcast as the host of #WriterWednesdays episodes. Soon, she was promoted to co-host of the author interviews with host Untamed.Crystal continues to be a force in the book blogging world and a viable asset with Get Caught Up, as she expands upon her literary career. Her first book, Forsaken was released in October 2024.
